LOCAL ENTREPRENEUR JAMES TAYLOR TO BE INDUCTED

INTO LYNN UNIVERSITY’S ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME

BOCA RATON, FL – James Taylor, CEO and Founder of Taylored Athletes Sports, Inc., will be inducted into the Lynn University Athletic Hall of Fame on Wednesday, April 27. The Hall of Fame ceremony will be held at the Deerfield Hilton at 6:30 p.m. and will honor Taylor for his outstanding achievements as a Lynn University basketball player as well as his contributions to the community.

A standout player at Haines City High School, Taylor’s college career with the Knights started in 2001 when he was named Sunshine State Conference Freshman of the Year and was selected to the Division II Bulletin National All-Freshman Team. Regarded as one of the top guards in the nation, he was a Division II All-American as a sophomore, junior and senior with the Knights. Upon graduation in 2005 with a MBA in Sports Administration, he was honored with the James J. Oussani Award in recognition of outstanding degree completion and also received the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award.

Taylor’s success at Lynn led to a professional career with the NBA’s Developmental League, where he played for the Roanoke Dazzle on a team with current NBA stars Will Bynum and Jamario Moon. He rounded out his professional career with overseas stints in Australia and Russia.

When his playing days ended, Taylor founded Taylored Athletes Sports, Inc. with a mission of training young athletes to reach their full potential. Founded on the fundamental principles of integrity, quality training, quality service, faith in God, sportsmanship and learning life lessons through sports, Taylor has trained more than 5,000 athletes to date and is well known for his Next Level basketball camps and soccer clinics.

Last year, Nike hired Taylor as a Jordan Brand technical director for a commercial with with Miami Heat stars Dwayne's Wade and LeBron James. Shown thousands of times on television and on the Internet, Taylor’s skills as a consultant have been in demand as a result of the national exposure.

Taylor has been featured in more than 50 media publications for business, entrepreneurship, Black Issues in Higher Education, sports, business and community involvement. He was a nominee for the 2010 JM Lexus African American Achievers Award and Inc. Magazine’s “30 Under 30” Entrepreneur Award.

“James has used the game of basketball as a vehicle to receive a college education, and then wisely combined the two to create a business that caters to young people who have the same dream he had,” said Adam Filippi, an International Basketball Scout with the Los Angeles Lakers. “This would not have been possible without his incredible dedication, motivation, and determination. I am proud of what he has achieved both on and off the basketball court, and congratulate him on his induction into Lynn University’s Hall of Fame.”

Recently, Taylor founded “A Taylored Heart” Foundation to help at risk youth and help end generational poverty.
